    Linksys Phones

    Discover the range of business grade VoIP linked devices and phone systems available from Linksys, and learn how to configure and optimise them for maximum productivity.

    To change the passwords on the Linksys phones:
    
    1. press button on right hand side that looks like a piece of paper folded over in the corner
    2. scroll down with down arrow key to number 9. Network and press Select
    3. Make a note of your IP address - it will be in the format 192.168.1.x or something similar
    depending on your network setup
    4. initiate a browser session to that IP address i.e. http://192.168.1.x
    5. you are now connected to the phone
    6. Select Admin Login
    7. Select Ext 1
    8. Look for Subscriber Information - the password change will occur
    9. change password to the one listed below for that extension
    10.click Submit All Changes
    11. Reboot Phone - by pressing the key on the right hand side that looks like a piece of paper folded over
    and scroll down to 12. reboot
    
    NB. The same password must be configured on the PBX for that extension, so that when the phone reboots
    it makes a 'handshake' with the PBX and if the Username  and Password match, the phone will be permitted
    to register.
    Please reset the SPA941 phone back to factory default settings in the following way:
    1. Press Setup - the piece of paper folded over in one corner icon
    2. Using Navigation button - large button in middle of phone - Scroll down to and select Factory Reset
    3. Press OK
    4. SPA will reboot back to default settings.
    
    Put it back on the network and I will try and reconnect to it.
    'Call Waiting' is when you are on an active call and another incoming call comes in, which is placed in the next unused line key queue - you should  hear a tone every few seconds and the line key will be blinking red. 
    
    You can put the first call on hold to answer the second call by pressing the blinking line key to pick up the second call. 
    
    You can check the settings on the phone itself by selecting the Set Up key (key with a piece of paper folded over):
    1. Scroll down to number 5 - Preferences. Press Select
    2. Scroll up to Call Waiting. Press Edit.
    3. If it is set to No, toggle the y/n button to toggle to Yes, so that it is enabled.
    4. Press Ok to enable the option 
    5. press Save to save the setting
    
    Please can you let me know if the setting is enabled or not. If it is enabled and not working please can you advise me your firmware revision by:
    
    1. press setup key (piece of paper folded in one corner)
    2. scroll down to Product Information and press Select button
    3. scroll down to Software Version and advise me what version you are on 
    4. scroll down to Hardware Version (under Product Information) and advise me the version.
    
    I will check if there is an upgrade of the firmware.
    Amend your Timezone for the right zone and sync up your phone clock to time as follows:
    
    1. Select Regional from top task bar
    2. scroll down to Time Zone: 
    3. Select GMT
    
    to keep the phone clock in sync, add the following NTP time servers from http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/use.html
    
    1. select advanced in top right hand corner
    2. select System from top task bar
    3. put the following in Primary NTP Server: 0.pool.ntp.org
    4. put the following Secondary NTP Server; 3.pool.ntp.org
    
    Your phone will readjust to the right time.
    To access the voice mail box please do following:
    a. press *124 from any handset
    b. enter mailbox number 5002
    c. enter assoicated PIN 7841
    d. you should get an email of every voice message left. We have configured ally@highlandplumbing.org as this was the email address from X1003 - if you would like this changed please let us know.
    
    If you find that your phone will not accept the *124 to enter mailbox mode. Please do the following:
    1. Find out IP address of phone by:
    - press on setup button (piece of paper folder over) scroll down to number 9. Network and press select button
    - make a note of the IP address which will be 192.168.1.x or 10.x.x.x
    2. make an internet explorer browser session to that IP address (so you can communiate with phone directly)i.e http://192.168.1.x or http://10.x.x.x
    3. on top right hand side select Admin Login
    3. Select EXT 1 from top task bar
    4. Scroll to bottom of page - Dial Plan:
    6. where you see a long line of brackets,x's and numbers do following:
    (*xx|[ - this is what is at beginning of line, add another x so it looks like this
    (*xxx|[ - do not change anything else.
    
    Now your OOH voicemail box will work. 
    to keep the phone clock in sync, add the following NTP time servers from http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/use.html
    
    1. select advanced in top right hand corner
    2. select System from top task bar
    3. put the following in Primary NTP Server: 0.pool.ntp.org
    4. put the following Secondary NTP Server; 3.pool.ntp.org
    5. Submit All Changes
